Small Business Saturday 2022

This coming Saturday, 3rd December, is Small Business Saturday here in the UK.

I am a small business. Ideas Education Ltd is so small that it only employs me!

So what does this small business do?

• provides teaching of Spanish and French in local primary schools
• provides consultancy services and training for schools and teachers locally and across the country
• consults for educational organisations such as the BBC, Oak National Academy and TTS
• pays for, hosts and maintains Light Bulb Languages, a website packed with free resources for languages teachers
• offers for sale high quality, and now award-winning, resources for Spanish and French via Sellfy
• offers for sale language-themed goodies and more via LumenMakes on Etsy

To celebrate Small Business Saturday, I am offering you:

• A 25% discount on all my Sellfy resources, using the discount code SBS22, on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December
• A 25% discount on everything in my Etsy shop, using the discount code SBS22, on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December

Why not also support some of my lovely friends and family who also run small businesses?

• Laura Anne Photography
• Nattalingo
• Crowd Insight
• A Cuerpo
• ReStitchy
• A Tantôt

At the moment I am only back teaching in two of my three schools, so I needed something else to do with two afternoons a week and to help me to meet my pension payments!

I've already mentioned that one of my hobbies is sewing (see the post about teacher aprons!) so I decided to use my time to make some language-themed goods and sell them on Etsy.  I don't know about you, but I like to have things with "foreign writing" on!

I've purchased some suitable fabrics from France and Spain, and even designed my own fabrics (haven't made anything with them yet, though!)

If you'd like to have a browse of the Etsy shop, it's here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LumenMakes.  Please get in touch if there is anything in particular that you'd like.
